I switched to the Vampyre M Pro Fins from Mares Avanti Quattro Power fins. The Vampyre fins’ increased stiffness, especially in the toe area of the footpocket, translates to more power being translated to thrust, while the fins themselves are lighter in weight. As with any full foot fin, the footpockets are the point of vulnerability – after about 2 years of regular use (3+ hours per week, plus some UWH tournaments), the footpockets started tearing. Fortunately, they are easily replaced using Ultrafins Standard (with rails) footpockets.
